Torrent has bunch of seed but wont download

McHenryB Estimable. Jan 31, 1 4, I would try asking the question in one of the Windows forums. Don't even think about trying to use a torrent on a school wireless network; you may end up getting expelled. What is it that you are trying to download? McHenryB :. I can understand perfectly what Skittle was saying; he answered as if you were running Linux - not unreasonable as you posted in the Linux forum. Yes I assume you were running Linux. Same sort of requirements apply to windows though: If for some reason the HDD is not mounted think a removable drive that has been "safely removed" then you cannot write to it.

Also if for some reason the torrent clients or your user do not have write permission on the drive. Or a myriad of other reasons. To expand on blocking torrent traffic, traditionally it is very hard because many traffic are encrypted so packet detection algorithms do not work well.

The only reliable method is to block by default all ports other than 43 and 80 for normal web traffic but this still does not stop someone from using torrent over port 43 and 80 and has other undesirable consequences. So I think the problem is unlikely that it is your internet connection. Be careful playing with the firewall rules if you don't understand exactly what each one is doing and what the associated ports are assigned to.

Otherwise you are likely to open your router, and possibly your network, to every hacker who happens to drop by. Similar threads Question No torrents downloading Torrenting slow download speeds, very high upload speeds. Hello Experts, I have downloaded the latest torrent file on my laptop and checked all issues including firewalls bla bla still Solved! You only need 1 port. In general several people have had issues with the libtorrent version that shipped with the latest version of deluge.

You could try to update that manually and see if that helps. There are links for 1. Just download the file and put the libtorrent. It might work best if you are using the python 2. Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders Post by Gnildryw » Sat Jun 13, am Damn, I did not know about eztv - thanks for the info! What do you think changed all of a sudden? I doubt my neighbours have done anything new although I can't know that of course without asking them - they're not very tech savy though.

Changing the port to manual and choosing just one no. I also tried making changes to the firewall settings there was only one box that made sense to change, but that hasn't helped either.

There are many reasons why the torrent not downloading Stalled For my 1st torrent, there is bracket under seeds, does it means there are seeds that I can potentially connect to?

If so, why am I not connecting to them? The number 3 not in bracket under seeds shows I am connected to 3 seeds? But why all my Peers connection shows 0 progress and nothing is downloading? Yes, you can connect to this seeders if peer and seeder's network doesn't sucks. So no one can download from them. Does the tracker decide to go quiet? This happens frequently. Tell me it isn't so. Conversely, sometimes when I've had files ready to download, there's no downloading taking place even though there are peers waiting.

Same issue? Sorry to say, but there are many selfish and mean people.. Also you might have no connected peers to get files from. But I never understood: why are users presented as "seeds" when they're not seeding? Why an 0 2 , for example? Is this a longstanding convention? What then differentiates a seed from a peer? I appreciate the mini-tutorial. Those I avoid because they traffic shape real bad. Try some pr0n with a reasonable number of seeds.. That's usually the fastest kind of torrent there is on the public trackers..

It's a good point about encryption, I presumed you already had it turned on since it's been working fine before - If your ISP have just started Basic Packet Examination, then encryption should bypass this unless there using the more expensive piece of software which fully examines it The Utorrent was just a joke, so don't take it seriously, but I already mentioned it's probably the torrent, and the tracker goes without saying as it's connected to the torrent!

So you've really just gone over what I've said twice, but W.
